Some of you must be aware of this but I just read this so thought of sharing with CD's too:

Representatives from Green Life Water have been going door to door and
advising people that our tap water is unsafe. They are using tablets to
supposedly test the water, then signing you up for a filtration system.

I called Region of Peel there is nothing wrong with our tap water; there
is an investigation underway with the police department. Do not let
these people in your home.

My husband and I live in Brampton. We let a young man from GreenLife Water into our home Saturday and he signed us up for a GreenLife Water System. It was installed Monday and I have no complaints. This is the first time we see an end to buying bottled water.

I am so happy with the product, I Googled GreenLife Water to see what others were saying and I came across this. So I thought I should share my positive experience.

The sales representative who came to my house was guilty of doing a test for chlorine, and the tap water did turned pink. But that just means we have chlorine in our tap water, I already knew that. He was also guilty of signing us up for a filter. But he never said or hinted that the city water was unsafe. He actually said tap water is safe because of disinfectants. He even let me read the Rental Agreement before I signed.

I couldn't find a reason not to sign.

"He actually said tap water is safe because of disinfectants."

That would be an absolutely great reason for me not to sign and create another wasteful expense account.

"Safe" by the government's standard might be good enough for most people but it's not for me. I rather have water that's described as "healthy". On top of that I rather not have chlorine in my coffee and soup.

$30 a month for filtered from every tap, even the sprinklers!.. is not wasteful expense. We actually save $5-$10 a month because we spent $35-$40 each month on bottled water, just for drinking!!! Now we bottle water from home and don't throw away any plastic bottles.

This idea will be huge when people realize the benefits.

You know, you sound awfully like an advertisement for the filtration company :)

In any case, you might be saving because you were spending another wasteful expense on bottled water. Me, for the past 19 years I have lived in various parts of North America, haven't spent a penny on bottled water for inside home use. I may live 5 fewer years because of that, but that's ok. So, yes, creating a $30/mo filtration system expense in my house from $0 is a wasteful expense for me.

As much as I don't trust Govt standards in its entirety, I also don't trust claims by companies whose sole vested interest is to claim they are the best. So "healthy" claims by companies selling "healthy" products is a biased claim.

Do you clean the bottle with hot water and soap between uses. Google and you'll find tons of articles about the spread of bacteria if the bottles are not throughly cleaned between uses
