Thanks for stopping by.
In the year 2007 i was on a Student Visa in Canada. My visa had expired by Sept 2008, before the expiry i had applied for a new visa by taking up another course there.
I was waiting for an acceptance from the CIC, but i did not hear any reply from them, due to which i overstayed for 4 extra months after the expiry.
With no status on hand I returned back to India on 1st Feb 2009.
With all that history, I have plans to Visit Canada on a Travelers visa in the month of August 2011, I wonder if the Canadian embassy will approve my new visa as i had overstayed there before.
When i file my papers for the new Visitor visa, should i also attach the photocopies of my previously filed papers for new student visa in 2008?
Amit
It is less likely that you get a problem because your overstay.Canada does not keep exit record and your exit not fed into system automatically. If you have a good reasons for your visit and coming back ... you will get the visa.
You do not have to attach your previous visa copies. You will give that info in your visa application. In background section Question 2 ( have you ever previously applied for Canadian visa ?) you will say "YES" and in details section you will mention that you got student visa from delhi on so and so date.
