The 4th fed election in 7 years.

I am not sure who I would even 'think' of voting for.

I hate Harper for his and arrogant & bully ways. But what choice do we have?
Ignatieff - who? The more I try to read about him, the less I know. The least eligible to be the PM.
Jack Layton - does he even take himself seriously?..
Bloc -??
Green Party - are they still around?

Anyone else?..

Lets focus on the local candidate for Conservative in our area - Ex-cop Julian Fantino - dummy from Harper who does not even take his own decisions without consulting Ottawa.

Tough choices indeed.

That is the cause of my grief, last night and today morning.

Even if the budget was a bait offered by Stephen Harper to induce elections, why would Iggy and Layton fall for that bait? Why not wait for 4 years to see if Harper makes a complete mess of himself.

I am going to vote for conservatives, even though they have lots of trouble with ethical issues. My MP is a Liberal and isn't doing a bad job, but it is about punishing the Liberals. . More of my tax dollars down the drain due to this election.

This election could have been avoided simply by giving the $2B to the Bloc.
in my opinion, they should have done that and let things continue.

The Conservative Party's official position is that they didn't want to be seen as being backed by separatists and that goes against the traditional vote banks.
A deeper reason could be their eagerness to induce an election.
Who knows what the real reason is...but regardless, this is not a good time for elections.
It is very unlikely that any of the parties will get an absolute majority, but the PCs stand the best possible chance, which is what Stephen Harper is betting on.
However, he is running a huge risk...if things turn out the other way and we end up with a coalition govt. made up of the Liberals and the NDP that will be a total diaster.
you can expect your taxes to go up, huge funding for public sectors, unions and retired people.
corporate taxes will be jacked up.
Stephen Harper will almost certainly have to step down as leader of the PC party.
Ignatieff will be PM and Layton will be deputy PM.
that will be like a bad nightmare coming true.

i am determined to exercise by vote to prevent that.

I would prefer a minority government again.

I do not like Harper's artificial smiles and white supermacy agenda. I will not vote for him but see local candidates between Liberals or NDP. Last time problem with NDP was they do not place good candidates in our city. Hopefully they will not do the mistake again.

I think Iggy has become desperate since he was out of news for the past 1- 1.5 years and on the verge of becoming obsolete. He is not doing anything constructive anyways. This was his only opportunity to come back and remind the people of Canada that there is a liberal party and he is the head of it.

Just hoping for a miracle and Liberals get a new leader - between now and election date.

It would have been much better and easier to use the extra money for Seniors and Veterans as demanded by the NDP - would have been the best solution - but bossy Harper wanted to prove his point that conservatives are in power and get to decide on the budget.

That's why I call him a bully - he never tries to find a workable solution - always interested in upmanship :(
