Guys,
I left Canada during March 2011 end. I had received some EI till March 2011. I intimated the income tax dept. that I am leaving Canada.
Yesterday, while I was trying to file my Income tax return electronically, I was denied an access code, saying that I have to file only paper return.
I did receive some paper income tax return form some 2 months back, which I tore thinking that I can file online, which I canot do so now. May be I can write to the govt. asking for extra forms.
How has the experience of other Cd's who left Canada been with respect to IT filing?
Also I have the information that another person is in a similar situation, where the T4 form could not be collected as on date. How can that person file? Is the only solution being to call the company and request for the T4 form?
How is the experience of Kumar M on this?
Peace

TK, Since you informed CRA about your departure you cannot file elecronicaly and a paper return is your only choice. Your options are:
1. Contact a tax consultant in Canada and ask them to file your return. You will have to arrange to pay their fees in Canada or confirm if they are willing to accept payment in India
2. Buy a CND tax software or use one of the online filing service and file it yourself
3. Ask someone in Canada to pick up the form from any Canada Post outlet and mail it to you
4. Download the forms from CRA's website
5. Ask CRA to mail the form to you (I highly doubt CRA will do that)
As regards the other individual without the T4, the options are:
1. Get the details from the last pay stub
2. Ask CRA for a copy (If the employer has filed a copy with CRA, they should be able to provide you with a copy.
3. Ask the employer for a duplicate
I'm assuming this individual is in India, so option 2 may not be feasible.

Good suggestion by ashedfc, if you want to appoint a representative to deal with CRA on your behalf. The form is T1013 - Authorizing or Cancelling a Representative found here -> http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pbg/tf/t1013/
In TK's case he has already informed CRA that he's leaving the country, unless if he files a NR status, his foreign income will be taxed in Canada
