Entire last week I was in Delhi to attend a conference. Delhi has changed the last time I saw in 2008. May be the CWG has changed Delhi. I traveled by cabs and not once there was a traffic jam. Went by Metro for the experience, it was great. No wonder there is less traffic. Delhi's air is cleaner than Bangalore thanks to the CNG driven buses and autos, whereas in Bangalroe it is petrol/diesel/kerosene mix. Never saw a Sardarji driving a cab, whereas I used to see them in Toronto. Went to Gurgaon to see my friend. Metro ride was good to the HUDA city line after changing from the Sachivalay. Gurgoan is a upcoming Dubai, highrises everywhere. Autos dont have meters, they charge as they like. I was warned abt it before, knew how much to pay for the distance.
I found more greenery in Delhi than Bangalore which is a concrete jungle. Areas I went around include Lodhi road, Lajpath Nagar, Defense Colony, etc. Cant tell how other areas are like. Wanted to eat in Pind Baluchi, the nearest location was closed. Haldiram food was good (I am a fan of north indian food, mainly punjabi). Since I speak some hindi, communication was never an issue. Went to see the Lajpath Nagar central market, bargained and got some stuff. Few times went by the cycle rickshaw for short distances. Not sure why they still have it, helps the poor I guess. One thing is sure, one has to be on guard all the time in Delhi. Else you will be emptying your vallet.
As this discussion is getting hot, I want to share my personal experience which I recently had during my visit to India. Last year when KumarM and TK moved back to India and shared their good experience, ..........
Upon landing at Delhi Airport in the 2nd week of Dec., the structure and look of the airport building has fuelled my hopes and by the time I was riding the Airport Metro, the ‘relocation back concept’ started looking feasible. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I started calculating my assets in Canada and planning the exit strategy.
........... about the future.

Kumar M,
Please read the article by Delhite in which he curses Delhi saying that that was a town that made him not to relocate to India from Canada.
And you are showering your praise on Delhi over Bangalore which is India's IT hub.
I am sure India is a very bad place where not CD should ever think of relocating. They should stick on to Canada as it is a very good place with lots of jobs.
Your post is an eye opener, Kumar M. Thanks a ton for sharing.
Peace
