Hi folks, we are applying for supervisa for my parents, aged 76 and 73, they are planning to visit USA in May and come to Canada in Aug-Sep. Does anyone know current supervisa processing times from Delhi? I looked on the CIC website and it says 7 days - is that for real?

Would it be more easier to apply for supervisa from USA - they are in Texas and there is no Canadian Consulate there, the papers will have to be sent to Detroit or Seattle.

Also wanted to ask about insurance. They are getting a quote from an Indian Insurance company covering their 5month visit to USA (May- July) and Canada (Aug-Sep) which is very competitive. Will this work - can they show this as proof of insurance coverage for Supervisa application?

If not please suggest cheapest coverage options for them (high deductible is fine) and also can we get refund for unused portion of the insurance after they leave?

I appreciate your assistance, we are trying to ensure they can go ahead with their travel plan of leaving by 25 of May for USA.

the intention of super visa is long term stay. they way u are explaining thier travel schedule. it seems they are coming for 2 months to canada. better apply for visitor visa. Super visa insurance have to be from canadian company and that too for 1 year. At this age. Perhaps 3k CAD each person my guess

If all docs are fine, VFS at Delhi (nehru place i guess ) takes 3 days to stamp and dispatch back the passports. go for multiple entry visa. That way you do not have to buy mandatory canada company insurance. Be sure abt the coverage by the indian company and if possible share the rates and coverage options here.

Yes the visit is short term, they dont want to stay for the winters! Would it affect the CIC response - would they refuse the Supervisa and ask us to apply for the single entry instead? Since time is short we dont want to waste time applying back and forth. The reason for applying for Supervisa was that if they decide to come again in a couple of years they dont need to go through this process again. They have a 10-year multiple entry US visa so this would complement that and they could visit us in N America if they decide without having to apply for visa.

if your interest is that they get a multiple entry VISA then apply for multiple entry visitor VISA instead of supervisa .

I think the fee is 150/- for multiple entry visa to canada for each person .
