Hi,
One of my friend's mother is here in Canada on a multiple entry visitor visa (not Supervisa). But her current stay (or stamp) is coming to an expiry in the second week of September. Now, she also has a valid multiple 10 years US visitor visa. Can she just go to US by road and come back the same day and get her Canadian visa extended at the border post? Or, does she need to apply for the extension via. any form?
Please advise.
If she can stay in the USA for a month or so, it will be very helpful.
How long has she stayed in Canada? Is it 6 months or a year? If it is 6 months, she can apply for another 6 months and just stay in Canada. If it is a year, let her go to USA for a month or 2 weeks and try to reenter .
Just talking my mind.
Hope seniors like SS, Cdn_Dude will help better !

Thanks TK.
What about going to US by road and coming back the same day? Can it be renewed at the border itself? Has anyone ever done that?
Hi Febpreet,
I am currently contemplating similar move for my mother, whose case is identical , please update the forum , as I am interested to know the fact.
I agree with what TK has opined.

My acquaintance is sending an extension of visa application. I think the form is IMM5807.
I am not sure what she was told when contacted the CIC, but the best recourse is to call them as they are a better judge to advise you what needs to be done in this case. Not sure about going out to States and come back via. road for extension. I asked them to try it as they still had a valid Cdn. and States visa, but somehow got a jittery feeling so rather sending an extension form instead.
Well, we will see.

Ah! That's well understood. Good that it was not followed by my acquaintance. They sent the application anyway, but not well in 30 days advance. The visa is expiring on 9th and I think it was sent yesterday.
Anyhow! Over to them to follow it up.
Thank you all for your advise.
