For artifacts check out exhibitions at the Bandra Kurla Complex. Usually there are some ethnic exhibitions in this complex which are advertised in the Times of India. For food try Mahesh Lunch Home in the Churchgate / Fort area (very crowded but excellent food).

Are you there?
Thanks guys, really appreciate, will try all, but don't mind more input.

GREYMATTER IS WHAT REALLY MATTERS!!
For Chinese food:
You should try Mainland China. Thats very good for Chinese food. It is located at Saki Naka. Suzie Wong doesn't stand good in terms of quality. Chopsticks at Bandra is also good. Also try Dynasty at Akbarallys Santacruz - West on SV Road. But I sincerely thonk Mainland China is very good. You should try their sparkling spinach. very good for starters.
For Indian food:
Try Bombay Brasserie at Nehru Planetarium. Also try Roti at Bandra. If f money is no problem try Regent - now a part of Taj Group at bandra. thats a 7 star hotel. Food is too good. You would blow a cool C$ 30 for a dinner for one person. Also try Copper Chimmney.
For Sizzlers: Yoko in Santacruz (W) is also good. Good food. Waiting is at times 45 mins - 1 hour. No tables are reserved in advance.
For Italian food: Try Little Italy at Juhu beach. Beautiful Lasagne and a chefs choice dish every day. You should try their home made bread..
For Gujrathi Food: Try Golden star thali- at Charni Road. It costs 5$C but the spread- mind boggling... You can also try Thakkars at Dadasaheb Agiary. Nice food but not much of an ambience.
For authentic Punjabi food: Try Preetham da dhaba at Dadar TT or try Pind da dhaba at Khar West...
For Sindhi food: Try Kailash Parbat at Khar West
For South Indian Food: Non Veg- Mahesh Lunch home. Their fish curry is too good. For South Indian Veg food - try Ram Nayaks in Matunga East. Not a nice place but very very cheap and they serve hot meals for less than C$ 0.5 per plate. The place is hygenic.
For Goan food: try Goa portugesa at Hinduja - Mahim.. I am from Goa and I did not like this place much because it is like home food to me...
Their shrimps and jumbo Tiger lobsters/ prawns are a craze.
For artefacts- try Dharavi- be careful about the price. Heavy bargaining possible. discounts as much as 75% possible.... But be careful about pick pocketers and bag snatchers.. You can buy a lot of leather stuff at almost C$ 3 onwards....
For Other artefacts - try handloom house at Fort. they have a lot of authentic stuff made out of brass, sandal wood which is well appreciated here. You can also try Khadi gram Udyog at Irla.
If you need any more information you can send me an email and I shall answer you as much as I can.
By the way do not forget to have a cuppa at Barista in Mumbai. I like that coffee. it is much better than Tims or Bucks anyday. Have a caffe latte or Cappucino.
All the best.

A CANADIAN INDIAN
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
Thank you sooo verrry much for everyone's input. The only places that are familiar are Copper Chimney, Kailash Prabhat snack house, and Chopsticks in Mumbai, So I'll try the rest of the stuff this time. Thanks for the artefacts info, those were such helpful hints. I love lamps, I look like a Christmas tree when I sometimes light all over my house, but I still don't mind buying some more.
What else can I say, besides once again, THANK YOU
This is for all of you (in a clean way)
