Hi can I apply online from Canada for visitor visa for my mother, she is in Bombay 70 yrs old, ...if so, what happens when the application gets approved and how will she be notified to get her visitor visa stamped on her passport since the passport is in Bombay..

There seems to be some logistical problems with the application forms. They ask for finger prints of the applicant, and also the Valid INDIAN Passport along with the application. After submission, based upon the age factor and current health of the applicant, they might even ask for a Medical Report, from an approved Doctor.
Taking all these into consideration, you should seek some local help in MUMBAI, and get it all done at the Bandra-Kurla Complex. Let it take its own course. Please retain a copy of all of the submissions made.
You will have to obtain all of the Passport details and prepare a letter of invitation for your Mother and then send it to her with all of the other details, such as employment etc., Sorry to say everyone in Mumbai will get to know you better. So, talk to CIC and see if you can submit all of that locally here in Canada,

Yes. you can.
You need to create My CIC ( online account ... for your mother)
Your mother can get advanced medicals done for visitor visa and send you the proof of medicals.
Then you apply with all documents including proof of medicals.
Proof of medicals will increase the chances of visa.
Also a good explanation letter .....
If CIC decides to issue visa ... they send an email asking you ( your mother) to submit the passport .... if not they email refusal letter.
Your mother will send the passport along with the passport request letter

I would like to know detail for applying visitor visa for parents to visit to spend time with grand children during summer holidays. How to apply?
Is it advisable to apply from Bangalore or here? what are the documents needed.
I got following documents list when I go through various sites
1. Invitation letter ( Do I and my husband need to have separate invitation letter or we need to write collectively? We both are working)
2. Our visa papers and passport
3 our account statements & T4
4parents passport
anything else needed?
