Which is better of the two ... Meineke or Midas ??
Meineke uses some unbranded Petro Canada oil and Midas perhaps Pennzoil .
I have tried Midas ... never tried Meineke .... Does some one have experience with Meineke and how was it ?? They advertise $20/- ...

Meineke advertise for 20 but when you go there they say $20 oil is not a good oil and then they will diverted you to $30 oil. I tried meineke location at Lakeshore + Kerr street Not a good service at all........
They do not want to put $20 oil even if you want it.....

I always found WALMART to be the best.
You see them do the oil change, they bring the synthetic oil
from the shelf, with the Fram filter and they throw the
old filter into garbage dump in front of your eyes.
I one found in Active Green & Ross that they used a refurbished
Filter and also used recycled oil from a drum.
I do not trust these guys until I see the filter and oil can myself.

A car mechanic is paid about $ 45 per hour and if he has to an oil change in 30 min maximum his labour itself is $ 23 bucks.
This cheap oil change should be dealt carefully.

Technicians who just change oil and do light duties are not that highly paid.
If you buy good quality oil when on sale and filter and do it yourself, then also it will cost around $20 to do it yourself. So what quality oil they are using for $20 is suspect, may be it is a tactic to get customer inside the door.

Just wished to update -- Meineke was good .. clean place and the technicians did the job carefully and in a well mannered way ... They charged $2/- for the filter ... did confirm that it was not refurbished and that the oil was from Petro Canada ...
Did try to sell me brake service which I did not take ...
Oil Change + Tire Rotation + Wheel Balancing + Fluids Top Up ( coolant in my case ) + 23 points inspection = $50/- ..
Other places charge that much only for wheel balancing .

Good to know your experience from Meineke, but i am prettly sure thay never did Wheel balanace in this price, b'cos to do all four tire balance proper way(Mount tires on Computarized Balancing machine and put or remove weight from rims, etc..) it will take more than half hour to do the ust tire job only.
it may possible thay did tire rotation on that price instead of Tire balancing.
again $2 filter it should be aftmkt or probably it is refurbished b'cos original filter itself cost between 6 to 8 bucks.
