contract job vs permanent job

i got a job offer and they said it is contract job though it may continue for years. i am just wondering how they are benefited by considering me as a contract employee. I needed to have employment insurance where should i pay my premium and how it is to be calculated.

How to Calculate EI?

Use CRA PDOC calculator for calculating EI

Just ask (ur employer meaning on whose pay roll u r on) if they are deducting EI premium...most probably yes and ur all set then.
