Hi experts,
My wife recently got letter from CRA that she has been selected for random review for CCTB.They have asked for letter from my condo owner stating that she stayed there.And also school documents of my kid.My wife is a stay at home mom.

The problem is the landlord is not giving this type of letter.The lease is in my name.
Can I send the lease copy that is in my name?Also I was thinking of sending my wife's credit card statements and some medical prescriptions in her name.Would CRA consider these types of evidences?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Those should be fine. Write a cover letter stating that the lease agreement is in your name and that you can produce other supporting documents such as the ones you've mentioned. As long as she is in the country, you should be fine.

Basically you need to prove that your wife stayed at the address ( I am sure that 'letter from condo owner' is your own wording not as stated in letter from CRA)
You can show letters addressed to your wife from bank, credit card statements, driving license, health card address change info, even your family doctor or pharmacist will mention the address on medicine reciept.

The posts above were really helpful, but I just want to highlight the definition for eligibility, which will help you understand what it is the CRA is looking for.

To be eligible for the CCTB, that individual must meet all the following conditions:

- live with the child, and the child must be under the age of 18;
- be primarily responsible for the "care and upbringing of the child";
- be a resident of Canada; and
- you or your spouse must be a Canadian citizen, or a permanent resident,

Note that "primarily responsible for the care and upbringing of a child" means that you are responsible for overseeing the child’s daily activities, ensuring child’s medical needs are met, and fulfilling other needs. The CRA clearly states that if there is a female parent who lives with the child, they will usually consider her to be this person.
