Seems like Congress has taken their election funds from Ambani’s and allowed them to increase the gas price from 4.2 to 8.4 per unit starting April 2014. This increase will cause a steep inflation and people of India will get a hard blow. Arvind Kejariwal has already started the awareness campaign. Congress party is so sure that they cannot win the general elections so they are going to handover this messy situation to the next government. Now the BJP strategists are in dilemma. They are also getting funds from Ambani’s do cannot ask them to roll back the gas price. On the other hand, if they also allow the price rise, it will become difficult for them to save their faces from the voter’s anger. I think BJP will request Ambani’s to postpone the price rise for few months. It will be interesting scenarios in next few months.

There was this interview of Chidambaram by ND TV Burqa Dutt, where he went on and on, as how gas was selling internationally at 14$ rate and it was only correct to fix the price at 8$.

But there were a few questions.

How is it that Burqa (and even others) could give so much of media bytes to arguments that are in favor of gas price increase while nothing at all given for those who complained about the fraudulent increase. As to why they made such a charge.

The complainants are no ordinary people, but a former Cabinet Secretary Mr. T.S.R. Subramanian, former Naval Chief Tahiliani among others.
