Railway budget was delivered earlier today.
To a crowd, which thought that innovative rail budget will be presented were presented with a mediocre UPA level Railway budget.
Market responded by taking the index 517 points down. Most of the well known and active stocks were down 12% to 6 %.

The hope is that the budget will also be the same.

Then, we hate and bash Kejriwal for being undiplomatic and speaking what it is.

Good times in the offing, for sure?

If only he too hiked the domestic power tariff rates by 14%, citing bad governance by Shiela Dixit, he would have been PM by now.

Rightly said. He can not stand in from of these big giants. He is almost boycott by media now. I was reading some where mentioning that reliance is planning to buy Network 18. If this happens, then you know what will happen.

People need to open eyes. Bring AAP in power in Delhi. Competition is always good. We have Modi Ji as PM and AK as CM of Delhi. It will be time to show as who is better in performance which eventually will be good for Delhi.

That there were 99 projects in the last 10 years that are incomplete for want of just 60,000 crores a pittance compared to the 2G, Coalgate or public sector banks' NPAs. These were the real causes for non-implementation of projects. But Modi says statistical losses per passenger per kilometer literally putting on people's head.

This is like saying the family head cannot sponsor his children's education because it is high percentage on his income, while conveniently omitting to mention about the money he spends for vices like drinking, gambling etc, in this case the money stashed abroad through various scams, corruption and hiving off natural resources.

The Indian Railways already treat passengers worse than cattle, not because they do not have money, but because the people are really so, for the past 60 years of Congress regime. It is only continuation of Con's policy.

Where have all the rhetorics of people like Ravi Shankar Prasad, Jaitley, Nirmala Sitharaman, Meenashi Lekhi when the UPA scams fever were raging during the last few years.

They have no spine to catch the big thieves but again and again burdening the common man.

If this is only prelude, Modi and Jaitley are going to be more virulent forms of MMS and Chidambaram

Reliance already completed the acquisition of Network 18:

It's funny really. Media boycotting Kejriwal. This truly shows India is doomed for yet another 10,000 years. Yes, GDP will grow 10% year over over; and so does/would inflation and corruption.

Network 18 has major presence in India across all media.Taking over network 18 clearly means that you have control over the major portion of media.

Lol! Kajri coterie is back with bang! I thought that People of India kicked Kajri’s butt so hard that Kajri would limp whole of his rest of the life. I am amused that Kajri cheer team is back so soon. Almost all Modi baiters and Kajri fans have posted on this thread! Wow!

Railway budget was sort of a disappointment. Bullet trains for India? Not now. First they need to clean the stinking coaches and railway stations. The urgent need is to get good coaches and put more trains. British laid 53,000 km of rail track and gave it to us. India has laid only 13,000 km track since 1947. Govt needs to put in more tracks and get more trains on it.

Govt is spending Rs. 20,000 crores annually on pensions of the railway staff. That's ok. What is needed is to take away some of the perks of the railway staff. Free travel anywhere / anytime for the family and others. This is eating into the revenue. One of our family friend is a class I officer in the Railways. He gets number of free first class tickets every year. They are only three in the family. He has offered us those tickets many times, we have declined it all the way.

If u take the number of railway staff and the number of free tickets they get, that's crores of rupees in revenue loss. But it's been like that. Any change will lead to strikes by the staff which will affect ordinary janata. No govt has the guts to change. This is the fate of our country.
