Please give me details of some credible rental car offices and if possible share the on going average rent of a sedan car. I need a car for one month. How can I get the best deal and from where, pls suggest. I need it from 13 Aug. Thanks
Most or any of the rental car companies like Hertz, Avis etc.. are all credible / uncredible at the same level. So go with whatever is giving you the cheapest price / deal.
Donot forget to get comprehensive insurance as even a ding can cost upto $ 500 + to repair.
Will you be bringing a valid International license? Check with the Ministry of Transportation if they will consider this in Canada. In USA it is allowed but in Canada, I would not be so sure. Even if allowed it will not be more than 1 or 3 months from the date of the IDP.
All the best and update us.

Yes I shall be bringing in my IDL and it is acceptable in Canada for three months. But I have no clue how do they count this three months period validity, in a stretch or ..., I have already driven for almost 15 days on IDL when I landed back in Nov, 2013. Can someone please share if I do have some 75 days balance to drive on IDL, or I won't be able to drive on IDL this time !
About rental cars, I need some specific info, like approx monthly rent, good offices (cuz the one I dealt with last time charged me more than the market rate, I was new at that time and didn't have much idea, so want to be little careful this time in selection of rental car office).
In case you are working for a global company (even back home) , try to check if Avis or Hertz is having any negotiated rates with your company.
Avis on Queen st Mississauga costed me 37-50$ per day few weeks back. I took off the LDW (loss damage waiver) else it will be 20-24 $ per day more. but you being visitor having no other insurance might have to suck it up.
Btw Ontario rule is that for less than 3 months visit you do not even need IDP , you can drive here on your home country license for 3 months and IDP will be required for more than 3 months visit till your visa expire. So you are good to go till your Visa or IDP expiry.
Welcome to Canada! a land with arms open. :-)
Dear San Hugo, thanks fot the info relating to IDP, feeling much relaxed after knowing it. The price you are telling is quite high, whereas I paid @ 35 CAD per day including insurance during my lat visit but later came to know that it shouldn't have been between 25 to 30 all inclusive. So I am looking for this rate now. Probably it was AllTime Car Rental. Now looking at your price, I think I shouldn't hesitate going back to my old rental office, pls suggest.

For a Visitor landing date will be the latest date of landing of current visit, however for a PR the landing date will be of course the date of landing of first visit on PR visa.
For reading the rules on driving in Ontario, I 'll rather go to website like ontario.ca which is official site
https://www.ontario.ca/driving-and-roads/drive-ontario-visitors
Clearly states for Visitors, first 3 months, no IDP in ontario, longer than 3 months one need IDP.
The question is , is Hasni a visitor or a landed immigrant ? from the first post it seemed like a visitor.
