Absolutely, its all about priorities. Many are in Canada for economic & professional reason. Although some are there to evade the corruption, pollution, etc in India.
But mind it, there's rampant corruption too in Canada (although it doesn't affects grassroot level common man). The pollution is far more dangerous, its of a different kind. Several people are victim of the system which is designed to keep you living in perpetual stress.
Barring a few (specially in IT, Govt positions, Technology, etc) rest all are living a hand to mouth budget. Or maybe a few paycheques away from misery.
Most crucial is the generational divide. Over time the current generation who actually migrated will become old & will be compelled to stay in the interest of their kids & grandkids (for whom India remains a foreign country). This current generation will loose their ability to even think of relocating back. For some its already happened.
Now, the young generation (or the yet to born generation) will be left to struggle on their own. White/Brown/Black divide is always present in the society (many of us will advocate against it), its a fact which everyone knows.
So, its a catch 22 situation for many-
"They want to go back to India, but they can't
They want to stay but the future won't let them stay without worries"

Im leaving it open for views & comments..

Its like loving Bahamas as we visit there in Winter enjoying the beautiful sun.
When I spoke with a chap who lives there said, it is pretty boring to live there, that is reality but what is the picture you have in your mind about Bahamas ? all those cruise, luxury hotels, shopping, eat out and then all those sport activities. The same thing applies to many about India. They are not looking at the side where they confront those govt workers, unruly / reckless drivers on the road, power supply, questionable healthcare, allergies, police etc., they just picture the fun time with friends and families hence the thoughts.

I am not defending anything but I see such affections are not very different from self made illusions... Not many want to live in reality that includes me.

Personally I think it is not healthy to have a one way love affair with India and forget to embrace the country you live in, what I see some of us doing who are not happy here.

There is no rule of law, corruption has become culture, the guilty are not punished, the victims get punished when they do not remain silent, merit is side lined, even thrown to the garbage bin, highway/rail accidents where people get killed in dozens owing to poor vehicle and road conditions and because of not adhering to traffic rules, people getting more and more selfish and rude, their economic growth not reflecting in their character and finally a leadership not doing anything to pull the country from the crevice it has fallen into but vaguely shouting "development, development" and may be using all the above to hold on to power.
This is today's India. But still is only frying pan and would not commit the folly of jumping into fire.
