Only thing that I did was, I made a mistake in down loading the "SpyHunter4". They are a bunch of slick swindlers. It took them Two good hours and gave me a whole list of Malware and I jotted it down, not all of the 650 malware list, but just the Heading. They wanted 39 bucks US for the registration and removal, that too just for One year. Then I uninstalled their software. Then I went for the free version of the Malwarebytes. It did most of the work. But it is not the best.
Now I will have to figure out how to get rid of the Managera-Extutil, Internet pro...., Lasaorean, Loinkey,Conduit, Adware Atuzi.. et all and 20 others from the registry. I must be running a bug factory!! Or is it the FLU Virus?

One of these days, I will save all of what I want to save on an external drive. (A few gigs, jump drive.)
Then, take an inventory of all of the items that I will be downloading again, such as Team Viewer, Skype etc., and then quickly format and reload, unless there is a quick reload or get a Recovery Disk, that will avoid all of the work.
Currently I am at the mercy of the technicians, who loaded the original O.S. a few years ago. All of these bugs might have got in when I down loaded the additional software from the net. It is not a gamer, nor one with torrents.

If your system is infected, no matter what you try, something will be left or come back to hunt you down. The best solution is, as febpreet suggested, OS re-install. Starting from scratch is the best solution. I always suggest to everyone, don't save any important stuff/data on your C: drive. Either have the separate drive or partition. Then you won't feel the pain of backing up stuff and OS re-install will be breeze.

Just update:
after full scan with MSE, two or three times red alert window pops up about virus threat, did clean up and now laptop working well like before... no more windows pop up..
as suggestion, download free version of malwarebyte and re-scan completely... so far laptop working good.
let's hope no more troubles:-)
If you have the old laptop is acting finicky, you can always install a lightweight yet stable/good 'Ubuntu OS'. Very good for the regular day to day tasks and internet surfing. This is what I did for my old laptops. Never had to throw any.
One option is to replace old HDD with SSD. It will speed up your OS booting and program startup greatly. My Windows 8.1 laptio boots up in 4 seconds, just for reference. SO if your hardware allows, look at that option. A new 512G SSD goes for 200+ tax, and 256G goeas for about 120+tax.
Also, if you use this laptop for online banking, never cheap out. Buy a good antivirus and a anti-malware program .
