Hello Guys,
I've been using MSE under Windows 7 for a couple of years and it has apparently worked very well since I haven't picked up any viruses in that time. However, the past couple of days it keeps popping up a lower right window that tells me detected threats are being cleaned and no further action is necessary. Very good, except these pop up several times an hour.
This has not been normal behavior in the past.
I don't see a way to correct this behavior. Any ideas?
I opened in MSE history page it shows list of line like below:
browsermodifier;win32/KipodToolsCby
when click on above it shows below:
Category: Browser Modifier
Description: This program changes various Web browser settings without adequate consent.
Recommended action: Remove this software immediately.
Items:
file:C:Program Files (x86)Settings ManagersmdmfHelper.dll
file:C:Program Files (x86)Settings Managersmdmfsmdmfu.exe
any idea how to solve this problem?
Regards
It could be something fishy going into your browser. Try clear browser cache and temp files, you can also try to reset the browser (if this is IE). Do a full scan with MSE as well.

I've used the Free version of Malawarebytes and it's good, the Premium version is even better. The Premium version does go on sale from time to time at Newegg or Amazon.

Whenever you have a doubt, re-install the OS from scratch or restore the computer to the Factory settings. I would recommend the former strongly. This of-course might require you to re-install the device drivers as well, but the effort is well worth it.
Make sure to take a backup of your crucial files/programs prior to the re-installation.
My Suggestion , install malware bytes free version , update virus definition database , restart in safe mode , run malware bytes scan , remove infection. Restart in normal mode.
If this over the counter medication does not work then let me know I will suggest some antibiotics :-)
