Hello,
I am Murali, a Canadian citizen settled in India. I work for the Architectural industry and am a male.
In India, I have seen that we can do renderings of building for very cheap prices.
Please see this website : www(dot)vrrt(dot)com

I used to work in the housing industry where a rendering of a house used to be done for $ 600 (Rs.30000). It is Rs. 8000 in India.

I am looking for people who can follow up with Architects in Canada to see if they would like it to be done for $ 300 (Rs. 15,000). I will send emails to all Architects listing my services and portfolio. I need people to follow up with the Architects as well as bill them.

For each rendering got, I will pat $ 150 (only when the Architects pays). The Architect will need to pay 50% of money upfront.

Since I am not in Canada, I need good english speaking representatives to represent my from Canada using a local address and phone number.

Please note that I am not soliciting people from CD (any member who PM's me from CD website, will be black listed). However, I am looking for tips of where to advertize (for free) and get Desi representatives from Canada. This will be a home based job and the candidate will work from home during office hours only as the need may be.

I will advertize in CD classifieds, Redflag deals, Job bank, use FB page etc..

Any other ideas?

je Susi Perspective.

Murali

KIJIJI , CRAIGS LSIT etc.

Some students ..especially desi students who spend their parent's hard earned money & come here as international students paying 5 times more than Canadian students for the same course & are under huge debt ..might be interested in doing it as well.

So maybe advertise on some college & university job sites too ..like Humber, Seneca , Centennial , Sheridan , York, U of T , Ryerson etc.

What is the guarantee that you are a reliable & honest person & won't run away with the architect's money ?

What is the guarantee that the work will be done on time , on budget & the quality of work will be there ?

How about you do 1 rendering first the architect pays you in full for it , then you do the 2nd rendering & get paid for it & so on.

Because if you run away ..lot of scams thesedays..the architect won't catch you as you are in India..but he will catch the poor gullible exploited contact of yours in Canada & demand his money back or put him in jail :)

I contemplated it, as I was working in the similar industry back in India. Trained/started my career as a Mechanical Draughtsman, and worked in AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc. However, with no good prospects for this field in Canada and transitioning into IT, the designing part took a backseat. But, I always wondered about this myself as well. Even though, it's been years since I worked on the designs, I am still fairly familiar with the tools/techniques. It's interesting.

I would be happy do it and have necessary skills. However, this also requires Sales/Marketing skills as well, that I need to improve upon. Due to the latter, I never pursued it. I also have my contacts in Delhi that work in the same industry and take up these offshore designing projects.

On the flip side, I also agree with Adamthorat.

Adam:
This is my business plan.
We have 3 people.
Me, The Architect and the Desi profit sharing person.
If a good deal comes, I will pay the Rs 8000 to get the job done and send it to the Desi profit sharing person.
The Architect should send his cheque for Rs 16,000 to me. I will cash it and send rs 4000 to the Desi.

So I am not exploiting anyone.

hope this helps.

I am sure there are and always will be a legally binding contractual agreements when partake business dealings such as these.

It's never decided verbally. Everyone has to save his/her butt for any future disagreements/contingencies. No one is your friend in business, and shouldn't be.

How else can you explain the success of outsourcing to India? What applies to the bigger BPO companies does apply to the smaller 'mom-n-pop' service providers as well.

TK: This plan has as many holes in it as Swiss cheese.

1) Firstly any business has to be incorporated or at least sole proprietorship. At the very least a GST number and a BIN number.

2) This leads to tax filing by the front end person as each and every penny that leaves Canada is monitored.

3) A better idea would be for you to come to Canada, open a company, install a person who does marketing for you and represents you in the front end.

In other words, you are looking at a BPO company that offshores work. It cannot work like a mom and pop store doing cash jobs.
