Currently situation in Canada specially Calgary is going towards worst because of oil prices
Talking to various companies as well as recruiters.
Some of the options are Houston, Kansas State and Denver
Just for understanding consider if there is job opportunity at Kansas State, need some clarity -
1. How much will be Salary difference - If person is getting C$100K in Calgary, how much he can expect at Kansas State ( Oil & gas background with 10 years of experience)
2. What is the cost of living in Kansas State - is rental very expensive ? Any one has recent experience in renting one or two bedroom apartment
3. What are the other major expenses in Kansas state
4. How is Indian community & grocery stores
5. If family stays back in Canada, how taxes are applicable for a person. Will there be any double taxation ?
Anyone has links or further information, please share
Thanks
If Calgary is down, then US also must be down. The locals who lost their jobs from fracking, would not move on to oil wells and hence they will not encourage outsiders.
Your best option is war zones like Libya and Iraq or be content in Calgary or change your position.
May be Gulf also may have jobs for you.

Gurram,
Thanks for providing inputs
So, if Calgary is in trouble then how can Toronto & Vancouver be different.
Heard that people are taking 2nd mortgage at 12% rate to finance the down payment of their home. If the 20% is borrowed just to get the 80% mortgage. How long can this go on. Oil patch crisis & a cheap loonie is giving warning signals already.
