Has anyone actively contributed to the long-form posts on Linkedin (blogs/articles)? Since around last year, LinkedIn has opened up the publishing platform to all members.

I've been fairly a regular in publishing posts and has been an interesting experience with comments and shares from others.

More importantly, I get to read articles from many outside of my industry and the perspectives are simply amazing.

Anyway, just wondering.

I don't blog myself but I love Linkedin - the whole concept. I use it very diligently. I also find that a premium paid account is money well spent.

It is a fabulous platform. Very professional and serious. Great tool in today's networked world. Re-invention is the key to going ahead and surviving. There is no space for mediocrity.

Did you know that LinkedIn is also a popular "dating/marriage" back check tool - since people have their "real" profile and data on it 😊 - unlike facebook where you can fib and lie easily.

You can also lie easily on Linkedin ..no penalty for that. People lie on their resumes etc all the time, you can do the same on Linkedin too.

I personally know people on Linkedin, who have extremely highly exaggerated profiles.

Has any one tried Quora. I use Quora all the time, to get update about my self about the society and social issues.
Quora seems popular to me in India.
I never use linked in much, but people say that for Gulf and Western countries, Linkedin is a great tool to get jobs / references.

I am not sure if the paid premium account has any tangible benefits. I tried the 1 month free trial and couldn't find anything that's spectacularly worthwhile. I believe, if you have your own business, the premium account might be a boost.

Unfortunately, as in any other social media, LI has many fake profiles, but for the most part, is decent to be considered professional if you accept connections from people whom you know.

I primarily use LI to read a number of wonderful articles written by ordinary people from all walks of life and also participate in the professional groups. This is in addition to blogging myself.

I believe your watch has 48 hours/day - unfortunately I have only 24 :(.
 to you and your dedication.

Yes, 48 hours with each hour at 30 minute increment :)

Kidding aside, I know time is a crunch, but I glue my eyes on my smart phone via the LI app. I have a whopping 1 hour idling in the waiting room when my son is playing tennis or another hour by the pool when he is swimming or another 45 minutes when he is at his piano class, or another 90 minutes when I am idling outside his math classroom. These are the time I read, comment, "like" and share what I find on other's blogs.

Truth be told, LI blogs are inspiring and filled with new information, compared to the unfortunate drivel on CD.

My writing occurs late nights, or when I sit with my son while he is completing his homework or projects.

I have earned at least a 100 connections ever since I started writing blogs, many from India and Europe. People may be from different industries, but reading and sharing valuable content happens to be a common interest and my network continues to grow one drop at a time.

Most importantly, I relish the experience.
