Hello CDers,
I am bit out of touch these days regarding indian logistics. Its been more than 5 years since the last time i was in india.
Well pulled the plug and bought tickets to Bangalore for march break time frame (1-22).
Now i have to plan a mini vacation trip (affordable) before reaching the final destination (VTZ).
So far i am thinking in these lines..please shoot some ideas and suggestions.
Total Duration of my india trip is 2 weeks ( 1 week sightseeing and 1 week in hometown)
A>2 to 3 days of mini vacation in/around banglore, such as Mysore palace or any other historic places or Kerala (back water house boat trip or some rejunivation massage treatment)
B>Straight to final destination (VTZ) and get the jetlog over/relax in few days, then plan for some other holiday packages such as andamaon/kerala/martius/???
Apart from that i am in dilema of booking the domestic tickets from here vs purchasing over there.
Currently i am going thru Yatra.com, Cleartrip.com, Makemytrip.com. All these sites seems to be fluctuating the prices every hour/day and not sure whether to buy right now or should wait until sale/offers like here ??
Another Challenge is the luggage...Unlike in the past, international passengers will not be given any relaxation on baggages?? Seems to be dinged with extra luggage charges..
Any tips or recommendation of airlines/alternative transportation methods
Finally, any recommendation on reasonable transit accommodation for sleep (6 hours)
Airport lounges prices are the last resort which seems to be costing Rs6000+ for 3 hours.

Mysore known for its excellent tourist attractions, it would be better to shift base to Mysore (a few hours drive) for the stay. There are more places around Mysore than Bangalore. There were a few residents who too were renting their house portions for those learning yoga or sight seeing. We can explore in internet.
Mysore's Dasaprakash Paradise would be a good choice. there is also Dasaprakash City which is less expensive and affordable for middle income group. There are other good hotels too. These hotel/lodges are there for many decades and need no canvassing.
From Mysore, Coorg(Mercara) is reachable and completed in a day's tour. So too Ooty, Bandipur inside TN border. Better to have own cab than go for conducted group tours. For religious minded Mookambiga,Udipi, Sringeri, etc. combine excellent sight seeing too. Belur and Halabedu sculptures are miss-not places.

You can visit any 1 of these places around Blr in 2-3 days. Don't try to visit all in one visit:
Mysore
Madikeri
Ooty-Conoor
Wayanad

Thanks guys,
I kind of backed out of stop over at BLR, instead planning to go home directly and take rest.
Its advisable to take rest and get out of Jetlag before planning for mini vacation in/out of Karnataka/
Kerala.
Once agian, thanks for the pointers/suggestions

Both expedia.ca and flighthub.ca have a British Air Ways return flight for only $ 894 - All Inclusive.
Leaving Jan 13 coming back Jan 27 . Toronto - London - Chennai and reverse. Only 4 hrs stop in London. Very good airlines and the cheapest right now. Change dates and you should get same price.
