We are moving our house (1 BR basement apartment) from Richmond Hill to Brampton end March.
We have no furniture items like bed, sofa sets, cupboards, chest of drawers, dining table sets etc. We only have around 10-12 cartons of kitchen utensils and other stuff, clothes etc and 3-4 baggages (luggage).
Can anyone please suggest prompt and reliable service providers offering reasonable rates.
Thanks in advance.
It is a silly question.... Do you Drive here in Canada. Also in the winter? Can you do a small amount of lifting, especially the boxes that you just packed? If so.... there may be an easy way out..
Please get back to me here.
FH.
What you have is nothing in terms of moving. If you are capable of carrying, rent a van or the smallest U-Haul, and get it done yourself. You'd pay around $50 or so for U-Haul (day charge plus km).
If you cannot lift, then ask your friends if they can load and unload.
If that is not possible, you might find a local mover who might offer to move for less than $200. You need to tell them you only have x many boxes. I once had to move 7 heavy items (appliances and wooden furniture). It took them about an hour to load, move, and unload, and I paid $150 for a 2 man crew.

A U-Haul truck and a friend will be enough. Should be under $100 and a lunch.
I moved my 2BR home from Etobicoke to Markham in 2011 driving a U haul. $80, 2 trips . That was only once in life my brother-in-Law was of some use to me.
Now in 2016, I 'll need 2 30ft trucks to move our camp. Humans are hoarders.
Based on the current trend - check on UBER - you might find a driver with a minivan to make this trip.
10-12 boxes will fit very easily in the trunk of most minivans + 3~4 passengers.

How about selling your boxes on Amazon/ebay and buying yourself with pick up address as current address and delivery address as new address.
