I have received interview weiver , and have completed my medicals. I hve been going through some of the members sharing about their concern etc. I want feedback from people on the below mentioned.
1) I am a family man with 2 children, i have a Son who is 12 year old and not a normal child and needs special education . Sometimes his behaviour needs some adults to be at home. My wife will stay at home i will hve to move to find jobs, apply for sin card etc. At least i hve to spend 10hours out of the house. Can anyone help me with the following information.
a) Please give me information about the special education centres. As soon as i Land i have to put my son in one of the special schools so that i get 8 to 10 hours time tomove around.
b) What do the special schools cost ? I am in dark because unless and until i put him in a special school i cannot do anything. He is autistic child .
c) Please inform me i have seen Photograph of Biomed's House is it rented or owned if it is rented please let me know the rent . MY intention is to stay in such houses only. Which area is this in Toronto.
d) I am basically an electrical engineer , specialised in Thermal Energy and Utilities
After going through all Desi informations i am a bit scared about my prospects as i need a lot of support. I do not know wether i will get any support. Is there any place where a large concentration of Indians live.

Hi Sundar
Let me try to answer your questions:
1.You don’t have to take your kid for SIN & OHIP application and job search can be done without your wife if she is not going to work.
2.All public schools have appropriate arrangement for the education of children with special needs. So where ever you plan to live you can admit your son in the local public school without any problem.
3.Education in public schools is funded by the Government and property tax so it is absolutely free for the public.
4.The house you have seen in the photos is owned by me. Upper level of such house can be rented for C$1100 to C$1400 per/month, whereas rent for the basement would be C$650 to C$750 per/month. This house is located in the Mississauga ( near the Pearson International Airport). This area is also called Little Punjab but you can find members of our community everywhere within the GTA.
5.As far as I know getting job in your profession would not be that difficult.
Thanks and regards.

contact easter seal society when you get here, as well as toronto dept of public health. they will send a public health nurse home to access your child's need.
there are numerous resources for special children available in canada, you will need to speak with the nurse to find out about them.
also, in junior colleges like Seneca or Centennial, some childcare education depts offer training/courses or certificate programs in taking care of autistic children. i suggest you or yr spouse take a course - costs around $300 - or do the cert - $2-3k - and this way you can take care of yr child according to canadian acceptable standards as well as understand about autism more.
i caution u however that some govt programs run experimental labs/clinics for special (esp. autistic) children . they offer free meds, drug therapies, care providers etc.., but expect yr child to face realtime experimentation like a guinea pig in a lab. pls stay away from such programs for yr child's own good. it is better to take care of yr child yrself rather than hand them over to the govt. best regards.

Hello abisangi
-Your son can join the school in the area you move into.
-Special school maybe needed depending on your sons needs.
-Once you land in Canada you will need to enroll your son in the school
-You should talk to the schools principal of your son’s special needs
-Principal will then contact the school board informing them about your son
-a teaching assistant will be assigned to your son depending on the funding available to the school and the severity of your sons needs
-at the same time you will be asked to get a psychiatric evaluation for your son at the local hospital yourself
-it will take few months depending upon the load at the local hospital to get an appointment
-it is important that your son is evaluated by doctors here as that will entitle him to the various support programs offered for children’s with special needs
-the school board also has a team of Psychiatrist/Occupational therapist/Speech therapist who will evaluate your son’s needs and recommend to the school board the kind of help your son needs (This is referred to as IPRC= The Identification, Placement, and Review Committee) you can get reference to this at http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/general/elemsec/speced/identifi.html
-Be assured that your son will get best of support here in Canada for his future development needs
-there is no cost to you for special schools as they are funded by the government
-please let me know any specific questions you may have
