I am following this closely. Times Now channel is reporting this big time. From her own words "I hope the kids learnt from this". This is shown on the tv number of times. Means she is supporting the thrashing? Now she is turning around when the heat is on her in Canada. Times Now tv is showing reaction from Canadians.
IMO, getting votes from illiterate punjabis in Brampton is no different from Indian MPs getting votes from illiterate voters.

DIO,
Donot forget that she is a Desi born to Desi people. Though she might have been Canadian by birth, her culture would be that of a Desi as she was born in a desi home and must have mingled with desi people all the time.
In India, it is not uncommon to thrash people caught of stealing. In Tamil Nadu, I have seen children being thrashed by police for petty crimes (like stealing food from shops, purses, stealing Rs. 10 etc..) and not one person standing nearby had ever questioned this act. It is an accpeted norm in India. of course the adults caught of stealing are thrashed to the extent of serious bodily harm by the police and in public.
So when this incident happened and the hon. MP was in India, no doubt, her desi feelings would have surfaced and she would have forgotton that she was a Canadian and expressed her satisfaction to the fact that the criminals were punished. Now when the human right people saw this and condemned this cat she is forced to cover.

First of all stealing a money purse from a Canadian MPP by Indian Kids is unacceptable and unbearable. This incident shows there is a security laps for the MPP. What would have been the media reaction if the MPP is hurt or life threatened for money? This incident clearly shows there was a security laps and Indian kids are poor. Kids are stealing money by voluntarily or by compulsion in Indian Metropolitan Cities. Thrashing kids will always have sympathy from public. Cops should have should have called the kids parents and handed over the children with warning or Cops should have taken kids to the custodial place. Thrashing kids in the public place by COPS is not acceptable and it shows poor management of Police behaviors.

Originally posted by puttooAs far as getting votes here is Canada, even the "illetrate punjabis"dont give vote for thrashing kids. Though a lot of "literate Indians" vote for Ammmas who's goons go around burning people in buses.
