I agree that most values are common viz honesty , helpfulness ,being well educated etc .... things which kids (even adults ) become confused are the ones which vary from place to place ...... dating / non vegetarianism / live in relationships/divorces/lack of respect for elders/ nuclear family are 4 times as common here as in India ..... they are considered 'right' here and 'not so right' in India / East ...... fir eg in India people complete their graduate / post graduate before joining a job , whereas here / US they work after finishing school ....... its different .
I guess the confusion comes from these dissimilar value approaches .... same thing as we term as generation gap sometimes , it only becomes much wider when we migrate ....
PS : I don't wish to get in a debate with people who would say that values in India are changing ..... if they are the same , then we would not be discussing this ....
