Viggy, U r trying to act smart. I quoted the original question above. The question is obviously in context of "We as Canadian Citizen" and on CD site, certainly majority of members are NRI. Info given by me certainly will be useful rather than misleading answer given by you. Hence stop trying to act smart and try to provide correct and helpful info. One more question, why did yiu talk about OCI in your reply?

I wasn't saying what info u gave was not useful or incorrect. Ofcourse it is useful for all NRI's.

All I meant is, the original question by Bingo was abt Canadian Citizens and hence your other wise useful info, don't answer to.

And to answer your comments to me...
OCI is not an Indian Citizen (as opposed to NRI).... OCI's are Canadian (in this case) or other non-Indian citizens. Hope this clarifies.

Misleading... May be u can help me which part was misleading and in what way. Things which are clear to one may very well be misleading to others!

(a) Multi-purpose, multiple entry, lifelong visa for visiting India.

(b) Exemption from registration with local police authority for any length of stay in India.

(c) Parity with NRIs in respect of economic, financial and education fields, except in matters relating to the acquisition of agricultural/plantation properties.
