Hello friends,

I am a mechanical engineer (from outside Canada) , was called for an interview to get P.Eng but didn't succeed. Now have been asked by PEO to appear in few papers to get the P.Eng. There are 3/4 courses for which I will have to prepare for tests. Trust me studying 3/4 courses after years of uni in not easy. I am trying to explore options, off course looking for shorter and easier path to get my P.Eng.

I have heard that doing a masters can also help me get my P.Eng and they say you can get a masters in around 1 year. Also for masters, I will be able to get OSAP. Though I still need someone to confirm if doing masters will get me P.Eng without going into the tests that PEO has now asked me to undergo.

Can someone suggest if I am thinking on right lines and that if I manage to get admission in evening courses (not sure if there are any for masters), would be able to continue my job also and be able to achieve my target same time.

Please advise if someone has been through similar situation, should I go for the tests advised by PEO or masters or there is any other route too !

Quick response shall be greatly appreciated.

Yes you can do the THREE/FOUR Course Requirements in your own sweet time, say 6 months or so. COST $4000/$5000 and the six months of intensive study will get you the P.Eng. (There are coaches available for you)

Doing Masters is great, the money you spend and the emoluments that you will lose you will not make it up in a life span of 30 years, unless your Masters is a Unique one.

So, put it on the back burner.

Good Luck.

FH.

Ok, thanks. So I will try and focus on doing some additional courses that PEO has asked me for. Would you be kind in sharing some more in-depth info about how to proceed. I have a recommendation letter from PEO with details about which courses I am supposed to cover.

Please tell if there are any colleges / private tuition available. Where would I be able to get the relevant books / preparatory stuff from and are there any old papers available to get some idea about how do such tests look like.

Appreciate any help in this regards.

Thanks,

Admin,

Could you remove the irrelevant replies, wondering how could someone force his advertisement into a personal thread, highly unethical !

Thanks,

Except for providing their names addresses and phone numbers, I have provided even the exam details and the Question Papers for a few of the courses also.

You can search for all of the Mentors and the Professional coaches who run Proper Schools for you to attend and I am sure a SIX month's effort with their help will get you through the P.Eng. And in a few cases, just TWO papers have EXEMPTED them, because of their advanced standing. So, be guided by this.

Good Luck.

Thank you so much for the useful info, its has really been encouraging and I have decided to go for it.

If you allow, may i ask you to share few links where I could find most of the related material.

Would it be helpful, if I be specific in sharing the courses that PEO has asked me to study and clear papers.

Thanks !
