Job market in TO is very bad, places communities around TO are also very expensive to live, weather in ON is also very harsh, looking to all this -ve points can it be interpreted that one has to explore some oother province for migration?
Can anybody guide on this? has anybody explored and is aware of similar -ve points of other provinces too?

Agree. Try Vancouver or even Calgary. Just don't make a decision based on number of job opportunities and/or indian population instead of focus on quality of life. When you feel happy inside and outside, you can find/create opportunities anywhere.

My opinion, land in any city but for the province of Alberta ! and that is where Calgary is.
I am speaking for personal experience. (and hence the opinions given below are mine only)

If you want to land, try (preferably) to land in Ontario, ..move to Quebec (pick up some french) or move to BC (where Vancouver is), but in all instances avoid Alberta....

If you notice the various threads abt discrimination in Canada, IMO and based on personal experiences, Alberta ( and exp. Calgary) has been the worst. I wont say Ottawa has been the best either, but it is a much friendly place to live in when compared with Calgary. Do not base your judgement on whether "Desis" are living there in abundance or not !
You should inquire from many ppl (on the forum, outside this forum) abt the suitability of the place , its surroundings and also how the ppl are.

Calgary is otherwise known as the BIBLE belt of Canada (something similar to the BIBLE belt of USA, of which Texas is a part..alas Texas is much different, but not Calgary)..

One advantage of Calgary though...
In Canada we have 2 forms of taxes on goods and services; Federal (GST and provincial (PST)... Alberta is the only province without the PST. So goods are a lil bit cheaper when compared with other provinces in Canada.

What is wrong with BIBLE belt? Do you have any other reason than \"discrimination\" to not live in Calgary and Alberta?

I lived over 10 years in US Bible Belt and found people to be much nicer and friendlier compare to US Northeast. I experienced more discrimination in NJ/NY/MD than TX/OK/KS. Same in Canada, I found people to be much nicer and friendlier in Vancouver and Calgary than Toronto and Ottawa.

I landed in Ottawa initially and couldn't put up with the town and people for even two years. Left a very good job for nothing to just get out of Ottawa.

I don't have a website for Calgary handy. Do a google search to find some.

For Vancouver, try
