I thought I did mention "My personal opinion".. and also I did mention "The Bible Belt of da USA is quite different from the Bible belt of Canada, e.g., Austin, Dallas etc., vs Calgary ...anytime I will choose Austin, Dallas over Calgary"...
As for personal experiences I am saving that for an article I wish to submit to CanadianDEsi.. Ppl can make their own judgement after that, esp. I will be long gone after that piece
As for other experiences, Yeah I do have experiences..abt a couple of my friends (a landed immigrant and a citizen)..and their troubles with the "Calgary" work place environment ! Of cos thats a generalization, but I will tend to concur with other ppl who have listed their tales of discrimination . I dunno where they are located so I cant comment on them.
As for your experiences in Ottawa, sorry to hear abt that.. But better luck next time... Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Victoria, Surrey, IMO (again make sure the font size is 150x times when u read this statement) are some of the best places to live. And this is strictly based on experiences from ppl I have met !

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
No I never meant alternate to Canada.
May I request all the Desis who are member of this forum and truly active,(by active I mean posting replies honestly to the best of their knowledge) may you ask other desi immigrants who are fortunate and busy enjoying Canadian life to please share their happy experiences for all the prospective immigrants like me.
All of us have been waiting for this moment of migration to Canada from 4 years to may be more than that.
Mishtar India has shared very encouraging experience of his landing , likewise I am sure there are others too ,
May I once again request the moderators to please encourage the prospective immigrants so that they do not enter the canadian battle field of Job hunting without hopes.
I do not say that you portray all good about canada, but yet conveying the bare truth with stories of happy and successful landing exp.

Peacock, Depends on what you mean by motivational words. It depends on many, and I repeat many factors.
If you are coming to Canada, after obtaining your landed immigration, for a Masters degree, then you are making a very good choice ! YOu not only pay miniscule fees (when compared with the USA) but you are also eligible for all sorts of Govt. loans and Grants. This is the best option for Individuals, as they enhance their academic skills (by getting a Canadian degree), stay here for 3 years (after which they can apply for citisenship) .
If you are working in India @ a salary of 60K INR / month and expect to come and earn the same salary here immediately then you are mistaken. The job scenario, is indeed bad (or as others like to euphamize it; it is "soft". It wont remain the same for long, but you never know when the market will rebound.
Ppl who post on this forum come from different backgrounds. They have varied experiences and not all of them are happy. In fact, there have been some heart-wrenching articles posted by immigrants here (i.e., ppl who had to survive on bread and water before leaving Canada). Thats the fact, thats the truth. Its better for you to know the truth before you make an important decision (rather, as the citizenship judges stated today "the most important decison of your life".

Well I am not earning 60k inr, and migrating to Canada, my sole purpose to immigrate to Canada is to offer my daughters value based education , which I cannot afford to give them sitting in India, and to have a better life for all of us.
I shall definitely hope to get my masters if things are set , however first priority is the edu. for my daughters.
