I have completed B.E in Mechanical engineering and working as a production engineer from last one year. i am very much interested for immigration to Canada. RECENTLY government has change the rule for immigration and the pass mark is only 67 instead of 75 earlier.
but i am short of 4 points for the pass mark of 67. This 4 points can be covered by French language proficiency. I am confused whether i should apply or not??????.
The other way is to apply for QUEBEC PROVINCE for that I am eligible.
but to be frank with you, i am very much fearful and doubtful whether i should apply for that or not. because majority of people there is French.(nearly 85%)
what kind of job opportunity there i don't know?
as most of the people are French i must know French to sustain there?
am i restricted for only that province or can move to other province for job search or to live?
are Indians living there?
With hope of friendly responses.

A Proud Indian Canadian
Montreal city is almost bilingual and muticultural. If you are doing odd jobs, you should be able to communicate in french. Even if you don't speak well, you should understand french very well. Although, some quebecois speak english, they prefer french. If you plan to work outside Montreal, french is must.
If you are looking for a white collar job in Montreal, they prefer fully bilingual.
In India, we have alliance francaise in most of the cities where you can have a crash course.
