I see a lot of adverts for renting out basement, rooms to new immigrants. I do see that Candian Desi site is viewed by many. What are the precautions to be taken before renting out. There are no references or any of this sort from the people looking for accomodation.

It is really dificult for a newcomer coming to Canada for the first time specially when he is brought up in the Indian enviornment. You are right how to believe on the advertisement on this site but the good thing about the site is that it is providing you a real great opportunity fo finding some place while you are not landed yet. Only thing to keep in mind is to believe whatis there and it is not like in India where things are different from what you say so rely and find out with a little interogation with the person about the genionness of the issue.
