All,
I am landing in mississauga by the end of this month from USA and looking out for
1) A good school district (I am told Ward 5 of the Peel District school board has a good Indian population around Hurontario Street/Eglinton Avenue E is good). Any idea of good elementary schools here..My daughter is 7.
2) How are the typical rentals for apartments there (Each time I talk to guys..they talk about Condominiums and Townhomes). Dont they have Apartments like we have in US. How is the typical rents for a good 2 bedroom/3 bedroom apartments.
Cheers,
Rkmsnd
Condominiums are Apartments in the basic sense. You pay rent ( inclusive or exclusive of utilities ) .
So as you are landing in Canada, please brush up your Canadian English.
eg
Loonie = One Dollar Coin
Toonie = Two Dollar Coin.
Leafs= Not a collection of leaves but the name coined for the Toronto maple Leaf's.
Not meant to offend - but instead of saying "Each time I talk to guys..they talk about Condominiums and Townhomes). Dont they have Apartments like we have in US. "
- you could have said or asked
a. What are apartments called in Canada OR
b. What do condomiums mean. ?
By the way the average rent for a 2/ 3 bedroom condo could be between $ 1100 to $ 1400 per month.
Go to the website relator.ca and you will find lot of more options.
And yes we have stopped living in igloos so cannot give a rent no.
Welcome to Canada and all the best.
RJ
Quote:Yes, there indeed are such apartment complexes in Canada (we're not in the Dark Ages, you know)
