I take this opportunity of introducing myself to all the Canadiandesis:

I am from Hyderabad, India, living in South Calif. and working in the field of Accounting. I have already applied for PR to Canada from Buffalo. Although I have got a bunch of friends, relatives and acquaintances from Halifax to Vancouver, I would still like to meet up as many of you as I can. Networking is a great idea and I would certainly like to know people before I land.

I got my acknoledgement of receipt in Apr this year and I am waiting for further instructions on interview waiver etc and medicals.

Please wish me luck and mention me in your prayers that everything may happen smoothly without any glitches.

Thanks,
Me2Canada

While we wish all the best for your application process, I wonder what gave you the thought that there could be some glitches. Is it because:

a) you think there might be problem in your credentials for Canada to approve your migration - if so, you should either rectify/improve them and then apply, or forget about applying.

b) you think that the Canadian authorities are not well organised and they might screw up all or a few things - if that be the case, you should reconsider your plan to migrate to Canada, a country which might create problems ab-initio.

c) you consider that you have bad luck and therefore things might not go the way you would want them to - in such a case, definitely rethink about migration, because in my opinion, you need Good Luck more than anything else in Canada to be successful! And ofcourse confidence, which your present post shows you lack a bit!

What do you say???

Ok man, I was just trying to pull your leg (didn't have anything better to do this afternoon!!:D ). Don't be worried - nothing wrong can happen. And yes, we wish you good luck.

Chandresh

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Though I do not want to sound less confident but I am concerned about the time it usually takes for the processing. There have been instances where one knows about how limited their resources are, less manpower etc. So there is where my concern lies. I want the process to complete as fast as it possibly can. As far as my eligibility is concerned, I am given 75 points by my lawyers who are processing this for me. They are based in Toronto and have offered me a money back guarantee. Mostly, I am concerned about the handling of the paperwork. I fear them asking for some paperwork which I may not get say, from India and such.

However, I must note that this site has given me a lot of insight and a lot of support due to the numerous posts we have had.

I must also mention that we should start lists of timelines of every member that has landed in recent times. This cooperation from everyone has lot a of use, especially for desis like me. There are times where I would like to pour over past members records to guage how and when each step of processing shall take place.

Thanks for your help,

Regards!:p

Pramodji,

I am just back from Windsor. The last two days were hectic. I happened to see that there has been progress on this thread.

I wish to thank you and Naresh for taking the initative and organising this small get to gether. It was really nice to meet and interact with some new desis and I only wish that we must have more of these parties in future.

People missed ( of course Everyone) but more importantly Chandresh, garvo, Biomed and BL.

Best wishes to one and all and see you soon.

Congrats on to all on the great gettogether.

Am I elusive? hehe:...i thot it is just the other way !!! with over 500 posts i sometimes feel that i put my nose into way too many discussions.

for meeting in person , yes i could not make it the meetings .....and i wish i could...CD family is like a 2nd virtual family .

I could not make it to this one because of another family gettogether on the same day .....in the earlier picnic i was hoping to be participate , i even went there before hand and posted the conditions at the picnic area, driving directions, parking facilities and spots for gathering etc ....but due to some family emergency could not make it .

But i am not elusive dude, you can find me on CD 3,4 5 times a day.

and I do look forward to meet you all in person.
