Now that's what I have been looking for - let us do it. As Ihad written in one of my earlier posts, which got wiped out on that black morning of some major disaster on our site, I could have organised it at my place, but then I realise I should not be so selfish organising things myself all the time (first meeting, two preparatory meetings, two pot lucks, then finance meeting etc. etc.), so I want someone else to do it.

But Daks, if I were you, I would not go out to put up a big gathering - with our (myself, Garvo, BIo, BL, and Sanjeev) experience of last 10 months, anything on a big scale on voluntary basis turns out to be a sad story at times especially where you do not even know those persons. It has been very convenient for people not to turn up at the last minute without any information, or people going to a friend's party after having committed to join us and you know things like it.

So, my ssuggestion is, have a specific group, do it for let's say a max of 10 families at a time (which itself might be a big number, believe me!) and try to do in your own home or party room in apartment and take the lead of giving duties to each family - in terms of food or drinks or plates or music CDs or anythig else to bring. that way, each person will be committed, and will not have a chance to feel that if he changes his program at the last moment, he need not be bothered even to inform, since no one's gonna miss him.

Just my suggestion! You can count me in for such a gathering an allot me one subji and one more thing if the no is going to be less than 10 families ( I can prepare Aloo, Cabbage, Egg plant, Ghobhi, raita, rice, and a few more things myself!:D )

Giving it a bit more thought, I would agree with Chandresh. Maybe too many all at the same time might to too much to deal with. If everything gets organized and space is the only issue then I can be the host. I dont have a problem with it.

When was the proposed date for this gathering?
