All CD members,
Please note down the meeting date is scheduled 14 th November and request all those who are interested to enroll / register your names and number of members attending to Mr. Promod Chopra at the earliest possible as there is limitation up to 60-65 members and also we need to have to chalk out some activites for fun and other networking purposes.
promodji -u are right we should have one register like thing in which we can have the details of all the members like Names, addresses and contact numbers as it can be helpful to lot of people in many ways...
We also anticipate some participation from some senior desi members like GG, BL etc...

Hi guys
What I initially understood was that this get together was for pure fun and ofcourse networking, or knowing each other and making new friends. In case this meeting is about wanting to help each other or advising and things of that sort - please I am out. I look forward to this get together just to forget my present problems and have some fun instead of discussing why, how, when, why not, and other crap that we never seem to be ceasing to discuss.
So in case you guys are thinking of discussing problems/solutions and helping, let us be clear on that. And as I said, if this is for fun for a few hours, which in some direct or indirect way might lead to betterment of everyone, then I am in, otherwise no!
In case a Amway or Quickstar person wants to promote his business there - I have no objection as such - till the time it does not spoil fun. (Infact, it was fun watching a group of such guys saying 'awesome' time and again in a 30 minute presentation I once attended. It seemed that all the North American English that desis had come to learn in Canada was the word 'awesome'!!

I personally am looking forward to meeting some fun loving persons - those who can forget their problems, if they have any, for a couple of hours and meet as if everthing was going great in their lives.

As I posted earlier, we would like this get together to be purely a fun filled afternoon wherein we can get together with our family members and have a lot of variety in food and fun including dance and music etc.
I have also suggested that if people want, they can exchange their names, phone numbers or business cards to explore any networking or business opportunity to be pursued later but not to start doing any presentation or business meeting there itself. The main purpose of this get together is to enjoy and party in this festive season.
So, please do not feel it otherwise but let me have your guidance in organizing this to the satisfaction of every one. One more thing, I have noted that most of the Desi's are 'vegetarians' including my self but have no problems if others would like to bring 'non veg' stuff for them selves and other non vegetarian desi's.
I would like the desi's who are going to be present here to let us know if some one would like to arrange for some music (dancing and singing) as I do not have a 'karaoke' or some hi-fi music system.
I am still waiting for any response from other seniors like GG, BL, BIOMED, SANJEEVM, SUDHISH etc. to confirm their participation. I hope all these would be able to make it along with their family members.

But where is Pramodji's place? Address kya hai bhai? Kahan pahunchna hai? Koi directions? Koi rides?
And the ppl who left their phone numbers, i think they expect the organizers to phone them and let them know about it.

Now it has been decided that the meeting is at my place and I had mentioned in one of my previous posts that I would be posting the address and directions to my place in a couple of days. And once we have confirmations from all members coming, I would be phoning them all personally as well and giving them directions, if required.

The closest intersection is McCowan / Sheppard Ave E and the condomiumum is on Sheppard Ave just east of McCowan. Sheppard Ave E is a couple of lights north of Hwy 401.
Persons coming from West by Car.
Take Hwy 401 East and take exit number 381 (McCowan North) and after 2 lights comes Sheppard Ave E, Turn Right (East) and after150 meters you will see 2 Highrise Condo buildings (turquoice colored) and the 2nd one is 4727 and the party room is on floor P1. It is called the 'Multi Purpose Room'. So take elevator to Level P1 and it is immediately on your right.
Persons coming from East by Car.
Take Hwy 401 W and take McCowan North Exit (Exit number 381) and follow the same route as above.
Persons coming by TTC from West.
If coming from West to East, you can take route 85 either from Yonge/Sheppard or from Sheppard Subway at Don Mills, and it is the first stop after crossing McCowan.
Persons coming by TTC from Scarborough Town Centre.
Take 129 north, get down at Sheppard and walk towards east for 150 meter and you are there.
