I applied in the 2nd week of August and still havent received any acknowledgement.

Its over 3 months now...Anyone else having similar delays?

we mailed our papers to Sydney, NS off in 1st week of July. Recd acknowledgement in 6 weeks. The letter alearly states that they would contact us for exam in abt 8 months. Even as of now, our status doesn't show online. May be coz the files haven't been moved to our local off. But anyways, who cares, we are not in a rush to get the citizenship. Eventually it will happen and things are going to be just the same, I guess.

So just rejoice and enjoy the fun filled winter festival in Toronto.

FYI - there seems to be a backlog in processing times. I applied for my citizenship in Aug 2003. I received an acknowledgement End of Sept 2004. Processing time then took 13 months. I gave my citizenship exam November 9, 2004. Thereafter it depends on which location you are assigned to in order for you to get an oath date..

Wow, 13 months just to acknowledge that they have received the forms we sent by mail !!!

I read on their website that average time to acknowledge receipt of application is 1 month after they receive the forms!!!

Guess, i will try calling them up...

Hi,

I did call citizenship Canada, and asked them why i was still waiting for a acknowledgment after 3 months.
Here is what the attendant told me : "It could take 4 to 6 months, before we send acknowledgments along with the study book on Canada. Currently, we are processing July applications".

If the total processing time is around 1 year, Guess they should do better by atleast acknowledging that the forms they received are in order!!!

They are processing July cases, that could be true, but receiving ack. after such a long time...???? I received the Ack. letter in last week of september, so it took me 7 weeks....

Application reached August 3rd, 2004
Letter of Acknowledgement received September 27th, 2004.
No further communication yet...

Question for Bison, when you called them, they said they are processing July applications or they are reviewing it.....because when they say process it means they are about to send those applications to local office, but if it is review ..then it's the initial step
