Hi
We have filed our application for citizenship in July 2004 and received the acknowledgement and the book in august 2004 and in march 2005 my husband was asked for his finger prints and he has submitted them in march 2005 and till date we havent heard anything, Does anyone have any idea of how long do we need to wait. Does calling them help? any Idea/views? Please respond
Have you applied from GTA ( Mississauga ..etc ) and moved to Guelph? If so then expect an additional two months delay. Ordid you applied in guelph itself. These days the federal delay is the same for all areas and once the file moves to the local office then the processing varies. For example applications in Mississauga office take a longer time to process than an application in a Windsor office. Does Guelph have a seperate CIC office or it is a part of Mississauga CIC?
There are a lot of factors in the delay caused. If there is a seperate CIC office for Guelph then your letter of exam might come soon. Also there is a talk of a possible winter elections which will definitely speed up the process as immigrant votes are crucial to the party in power...

Hi
We applied in Guelph only, we havent changed our address after applying, may be i should try calling them to find out what is happening? Also we dont have a separate office in guelph, kitchener is the closest office, not sure how long does the processing take in kitchener though, thanks for your reply
You can view the case database to get an idea of the average processing times for various offices. In your case Kitchener office processing time might be little bit faster than mississauga office. Any how if an applicant is fingerprinted expect a 2-3 month delay over normal processing times.
