Hi everyone,
My parents are on a visit visa. we applied for extension in last week of january while their visa expired mid of march. we learnt that cic was behind processing applications hence we will know by april. we havent recieved any acknowledgement from them. My parents are flying back this weekend.
when we called cic again they said my parents can use the payment reciept as proof that they applied for extension if asked during travel.
Is it so? I am not sure if any authorities will want to see an acknowledgement atleast.
kindly let me know if anyone has been through this situation..

We were in a similar situation. In-laws left before the extension approval came in the mail.

I don't see a problem if your parents are leaving Canada. A visa is needed only to enter the country.

Keep the payment receipt just in case.

I also want to extend their visa for 2 to 3 months is it possible to get it? Could you please explain me the procedure to do it?
