This theme is so hot it has all the ingredients of being a big hit if it is given a book form or even a film .... if done well it can very well resonate with millions of indians overseas and even back home.
I am willing to make a case and work with any filmmaker or publisher.
Just some more facts on shedding this false "identity crisis" we indians carry
- Time magazine published a cover page article on yr 2000 - titled "The indianization of England is Complete" . It was a fantastic read on how the goodness of indian culture has seeped into British lifestyle.
- We as indians need to standup and take pride in our indianness and shed the identity crisis psyche. I am not calling for US style jingoism....Pride in indiannes with humility and respect for the new country we live in, will do the trick for all of us living overseas .

First generation has to go thro identity crisis.....no escapin' it.
Your kids who are born n brought up in Canada will be true Canadian.....at least they will have the wave length & frequency of TRUE Canadian........the way they talk and express themselves...the overall OUTLOOK will be acceptable in Canada......
This transition period you will have to go thro'.......so be cool..........

Well Mr India ur wish has been granted a movie on this hot theme already made in Bollywood -'Swadesh' by Ashutosh Gowarikar starring Sharukh Khan facing the same identity crisis like we do (do we really?) but who in the end realizes his roots are in India. The songs are already a hit , chk this out

Most awaited movie to be released in Dec end or Jan 2005. The best part for me is I'll be in India that time so hope to see Swadesh in my Desh.

I am not confused. I have accepted my identity. The intial "culture shock" is far behind. Now is the time to make my position strong and identify myself as a certain strata of the Canadian society.
