Can't certify this since I'm not a big fan of Metallica, however here's the list

http://www.epinions.com/content_2818351236

If you like rock and want to try out some of the newer (some not so new) stuff, check out

Incubus (my fav.), Green Day, Switchfoot, Radiohead (kinda depressing but brilliant), Hoobastank etc etc.

If you like the heavier stuff, try Tool, Korn, Disturbed....

Also, some guys from GNR and STP (Stone temple Pilots) recently formed Velvet Revolver, their latest "Fall to pieces" seems okayish....

You can even try out some of the indie stuff on Yahoo Music, pretty good.

Anyways, I find that the as far as music is concerned, the Brits are a lot more innovative than the Americans. Americans are still stuck in the conformity of the grunge mode, while the Brits are constantly experimenting.

ok I will check it.

I dowload from WIn MX.....some wait time but the actual download is faster. Kazaa Lite ++ doesnt seem to be working on my PC. Has a bigger collection and readily available (no queue) but dowlaod is slower than WIn Mx.

For downloading i think Shareaza is the best.. It supports almost all types of downloads including bittorrent and http downloads.

Incubus - what to listen (Please list songs).
I got Nimrod by Green day and 12 gracious melodies by STP. Both good. Again I am not a big buyer/collector of records. Usually if I do buy a Cd its the "best of " or "greatest hits". I have quite a few of them. I also have a few VHS of shows...

most if not all I have bought used on Ebay.

Hoobastank - If that single they play on radio is any indication, I dont want to listen to them.

Same with Switchfoot.....They are actually a Chritian rock band.

Korn, disturbed ---> Flog (dont ask me what that means).

Radiohead --- Awesome. Here are my favourite songs:
Karma Police
Creep
Paranoid Android (see if the main riff sounds like an Indian movie or not)
Subterranean Homesick alien

Most of their work seems to be very good (I havent heard them all). but I have heard that they are exceptional thereby earning them the title of "Pink floyd of recent times".

I have Aenima by tool - Fantastic. Saw them in US at ozzfest.

Here are some of the bands I have seen here in To in the last year or so.

Johnny Winter (Legendary Blues Player from Texas)

Opeth
In flames
As I lay dying
Killswitch Engage
Shadows Fall
Himsa
Motorhead;), they opened for with Iron Maiden and dio last year at molson amph.

As the names suggest they are Metal bands (some hardcore). All good though if you like Metal.

So I did download some Metallica and Its great.

I dloaded

Whiplash
The four horseman
ride the lighning
Call of Ktulu
Master of Puppets

among others......

you are right about this one.....I talked to someone about this and he had a very interesting theory about this....

So Brits are Innovative and Artsy and Americans are down to earth and simple. americans are better showmen and actual players of Musical instruments (in case of Rock etc it is Guitar, drums and bass) relatively speaking.

Its all because of the above theory i mentioned.

:)
