Sanjeev Sahab...
1.) Did you buy a packaged deal ?
2.) If yes, then you should check the specs. abt. your sound card model.
3.) If you have a PCI-based sound car (the one that you can physically remove or install on ur mother board), then you should check for the model and install the drivers.
4.) If on the other hand you have a ON-BOARD sound card, (i.e the sound card is on ur mother board) then you should go to the home page the company that makes those mother boards. Search for the model # and you will find drivers to UNLOCK your sound card.

Infact I have an ON-Board sound card. This I came to know this afternoon only when one of my techie friends came to my office for some other work and I made him sit there and fix my computer
Finally, he was able to run the sounds like opening an application or closing an application etc....and then he ran away as he was getting late for picking up his son from the school but now, I am trying to play some music files thru WINAMP and it is not playing....some of the files show like its duration is 4 minutes and when it shows running, it runs only for 2 seconds, it shows the equalizer graphs but no sound at all!
I am again struggling to make it work

Miyan... kuch paise kharch kar sakte ho ? go and buy a creative sound card..60 bucks mein mil jaayega ..

The problem with on board sound cards is that if it gets spoilt you have no recourse left.
I have a lurking suscpicion you may have to tweak ur BIOS settings...on-board sound audio may be disabled from there !

BTW, I did not have to buy any extra stuff. The same friend fixed that.

Now, if anyone of you could please guide me: HOW TO DOWNLOAD HINDI SONGS FROM THE INTERNET WITHOUT ANY CHARGES? AS I HAVE TO PLAY AT LEAST 7-8 SONGS EVERY WEDNESDAY ON MY RADIO PROGRAM ON 770 AM. I HAVE LIMITED NUMBER OF SONGS SAVED IN MY HARD DISK.
I have tried with Kaaza.com but opening that site and downloading on the desk top means inviting trouble......unlimited unwanted pop-ups.
Any suggestions pleeeeeeease?
