Dear All,
Sometimes I wonder, How can we decide a final conclusion about something, especially when it relates to race, city, country etc. See this is not a POLL SURVEY or OPENION EXIT POLL, where you can have random checks. This is a bottom line for huge countries like USA or CANADA or INDIA, take anything. ARROGANCE is an attribute of people. Its a soft attribute of any human kind and we can't simply decide with few people's arrogance for the whole country.
Main toitna manta hun ki humans are everywhere. Gujarati main ek kahavat hai "KAGDA BADHE KALA HOY"..I mean CROWS are black everywhere. "ACHHAI BHI SAB JAGA PAR HOTI HAI" aur "BURAI BHI SAB JAGA PAR HOTI HAI"..

Why do you think that money can be a factor or a motivating factor in changing your thoughts?
If that was the case, I would have taken Canadian citizenship long way ago, and fled to US rather than struggling here.Or if I was so desperate, I could have faked my papers and made my way to USA during the IT boom in late 90s.
My despise for USA has grown after the Iraq war - I have realized how powerful media is in brainwashing people, especially Americans who have no mind of their own. The speak what CNN asks them to speak.
And somebody has pointed out, yes, I have also dealt with people from US, and I find them very loud mouthed and offensive. Especially, when they come to Canada, they maintain their "high collared" attitude, and look down upon us.
And Mr. Ottawa Nerd, in case, you do not know, there is a word called "ideals" in English. Not all the people are "bikau".

I got an offer from Fleet Bank few months back in Boston. They were giving me almost 25k more what I am earning here but I declined. Whenever I go to USA and turn on any cable channel, there is propaganda broadcast all the time, against Muslims, against French, against UN, against Outsourcing, against Liberals, against immigrant, against Europe…. Just turn on the FOX news and watch it for 30 minutes, you will know what I am talking about and FOX rating is higher than any other cable news. I won’t even touch the filth that is pouring out from their radio stations, of which most of are extreme right wings, religious fanatics’ conservatives. Few months back there was a serious suggestion on FOX news to put all the Muslims in the USA in some kind of “protection camps”. Like they did it with Japanese Americans in 40s.
USA was a great country up till September 11 2001. After that it has been changed for worst and no longer the country of human rights and freedom. Ask the people who are living in the USA; there is constant fear of insecurity, Red alert, Orange alert and all the alerts all the time. It’s especially bad for immigrants as they are not welcome anymore. Someone doesn’t believe me, just cross the border and see the attitude of their immigrant officer and then turn around and see our force.
Canada is not as rich and does not pay you as good as USA but believe me we have much more peaceful and relax life here than people in the States. All this become more relevant if you have next generation to worry about.

Yes, what you have written is right as far as the truth prevailing at this time. It's like you are giving a report on what's the present situation. But why can't you go to the reasoning part of it. You are saying USA was never like this before 11th Sept..
But then, why are you forgetting WHAT HAPPENED ON 11th SEPTEMBER? Go and ask those, who used to see TWIN TOWERS daily in their eye-sight and if they are not able to see it forever, what they must be thinking. Go and ask those families, who lost their loved ones, working in TWIN TOWERS. These changes or reactions are but obvious, killing of human beings can't be welcomed by any body. Any country would have reacted in the same way what US has reacted. And then immigrants are having a tough time because its like "DUDH KA JALA HUA CHHAS BHI FUNK FUNK KE PIYEGA" (its in hindi, please don't mind). Just put yourself in any AMERICAN's position and think, won't you be insecured??????
Just imagine, if something happens to our KUTUB MINAR or any great monument, which is close to our heart in INDIA, what would be our reaction? I remember, I was sitting in my office and got the news that in a town called Gandhinagar (capital of gujarat), some terrorists have entered AKSHARDHAM (a big holy temple) and they killed innocent people. I was bubbling & boiling with heat inside.
So once again, I feel for the Govt of US, its a phase of re-building the trust of US citizens and other categories of people living in US. There is nothing wrong in that.

A few comments in response to your post – I’m a frequent traveller to the US, spend about a week there every month on business:
FOX does not necessarily represent all Americans. It does present a more right wing view (I imagine that the talk of the segregation camps that you are referring to would have been on the Bill O’Reilly show). I contribute to another forum, where American politics have crept into the discussions that we had, and there are tons of Americans that disagree vehemently with the kind of stuff that FOX broadcasts.
As regards the attitude of immigration officers: they treat you with suspicion initially when you flash your Indian passport mainly because of the number of Indians that tend to ‘get lost’ in the US once they land over there on a visit. I experienced that during my initial travel a couple of years ago (pre-9/11), but now when its obvious that I’m travelling on business, I have no problems whatsoever, in fact taking Monday morning flights out from Pearson, I actually find a number of the US immigration officers to be very cordial.
Television channels being very pro-American: Always happens at a time of conflict. Do you recall Star TV in India, during the Kargil conflict? I remember this reporter – Barkha Dutt – who would get all pumped up during her reporting. Nothing wrong with that!
Racial profiling – Can’t deny that this happens. I get pulled out of line for additional screening all the while (once happened to me 4 times within 72 hours). However, you’d be interested to know that racial profiling happens at Pearson as well (although its probably never acknowledged). In fact there’s this South Asian woman (I’m pretty sure she’s a Sardarni) who is often on duty on the Monday mornings that I fly out, and she only ever pulls out browns and blacks for additional screening…..
But just in case you think the additional searches don’t affect whites, there’s this hostess on a popular radio show who’d been talking about a trip that she was making to Washington D.C. a few days ago. She’d been joking that security was particularly tight on those flights, most bags were opened, so she was going to pack some sexy lingerie…….

Key word in the above sentence is “ALL HUMANS” every one who lives on this planet.
