Have fun section is to share humor fit for a family audience. Mature themed and jokes with adult/explicit content will be moderated and/or deleted. Repeat offenders will be banned and their posting privileges suspended. When in doubt, PM the moderators before posting.

Moderators reserve the right to remove threads without notice.

So, now all Mods get to enjoy ALL jokes - posted or un-posted. :) Awesome!

Mods' job on CD is respected as they volunteer their time and over see the forum.

At the same time , credit goes to contributing members also who take out their precious time and respond to the queries raised by people and make the forum what it is today.

(Mind you , there are more of non contributing members who simply skim through the forum or show their face once in a while when they have queries.)

The above rules are perhaps not in sync with a majority of the active posters here as this rule tends to do away with with ALL mature themed jokes whether or not they are offensive , whether or not they are disapproved by the members ..... (Something like if a male was caught @ a night club with a firearm , the organizers decide to ban all males )

Are there kids visiting the forum ? as much as I have seen over the past 12 years , I have seen only adults visiting this site.

Are a majority of Vagg's jokes offensive or crude or are seen so by major participants - I don't think so and when I requested for a poll , the mod has not conducted it.

The above appears to be an autocratic , unpopular rule which does not seem to take the consensus of majority CD members.

Remember BL's poll ... A number of members who have voted 'NOT OK' for that very crude joke have also mentioned that overall generally Vagg's jokes are humorous and fine..

Since this was a clearly divided topic , why has the members' wish not been taken into account before arriving at the above rule ??

My remark in BL's poll .:)

Picking on one / two jokes and then using that as a tool ( don't worry you will see it coming ) to generalize & discourage a poster who has been posting good jokes GENERALLY is not a fair tactic / poll .

I don’t agree with the new rule to ban all mature themed jokes. I think it is an overreaction of someone’s so call 'feeling offended' whereas the same person may have posted so many articles offending others. Having a sub section of ‘Mature Theme’ could be a better solution. Don’t throttle the voice/feeling of 40% posters to full fill the desire of other 60%. Have a solution to satisfy both groups.

Fair suggestion.

60 / 40 was based on the crudest of joke alone.

If a poll is taken ( sql error prevented me but I requested the mod) , the acceptance of Vagg's general jokes might be in majority ...

Wonder why such a poll has not been done ... and why CD's wishes have not been brought into consideration to form such an important rule .

Will try to be as simple as possible:

A. The mature theme DOES NOT gel with the primary objective of this website. Also, it is not an ADULTS only site, so to expect explicit material is not a given.

B. The have fun section is for light hearted posts or discussions which should not necessarily mean jokes only. No previous warnings were posted before since they were not needed, the posters participated with self moderation. The frequent posting of adult themed and explicit material has prompted the site owner and moderators to make this post so that everyone is aware.

C. The rule has nothing to do with how many posters voted at which poll.

It is our humble request to all contributors to respect the rules and continue active participation as adults. Persistent requests to allow ADULT / EXPLICIT material on this board despite restrictions does not demonstrate adult behavior.

I hope no further clarifications are necessary on this topic. Feel free to PM the mods if you have any questions besides the freedom of expression demands.

M

Weak arguments ...

We have N topics being discussed on this forum which do not fall under the primary objectives of the forum (esp Pakistan & Indian politics & Islam ) ... Why are they not banned as well ?

It may not be 'an ADULTS only' site but the site is visited by 'ADULTS ONLY' :)

Really . It appeared that the fire originated only with BL's poll.

Yeah not taking into consideration what the members want and imposing a rule is surely very much adult ....

All that is adult is not necessarily explicit .... the line seemed to be drawn there .
