I just rcvd my request for passport and plan to land in March.

I want to sponsor my parents asap. Will i be able to do that after receiving the PR card and how long does the process generally take. I presume i need to qualify financially. Will my financial history in the US for past 4 years qualify me or not??

you need canadian income and there's a set amount you need to be eligible depending on the size of the family. If you don't make the minimum income required, you can still sponsor and will be refused. You can appeal this and possibly win. You'll need a lawyer for the appeal.

Thanks Massood. So basically if i find a job in canada which meets the minimum income requirement, i can apply even though i don't have any canadian income history. Please correct me if i'm worng and thanks again for your help.

Yes, you are right. If you go to immigration web site..they have clearly mentioned about how much income do u need to apply for parent immigration etc. u don't required any lawyer for that ..uhh..

And also now a days immigration takes more than 4-5 years for parent.

Your US history will not help them..
Try to call them on Visiter visa if you need them immd.

How long has one to show that income level is it onetime or u need o show for 2-3 years constant.
