Greetings,
Can anyone comment on whether component video cables are really all that better than composite video when playing DVD movies?
Especially for our Hindi movie DVDs, which are generally not as good quality as Hollywood movie DVDs.
I am debating whether to invest in component video cables or not.
Any experience?
Also, does anyone know where I can get relatively cheaper component video cables - they seem to be hideously expensive - almost 5 times the price of the DVD player itself

Best Buy on the same TV screen devided half, they show out put of both coaxial cable and component cable reception. Color and picture quality appears to be different.
Quote:The ones I saw at Best Buy were all in the lower $200 range.
The cable cost is $79 ( are you talking of this price) life time guarantee of the cable!

Some stuff i picked up on the net - and hence do not know its accuracy levels. The hierarchy in ascending order of quality) is a/v cables, then s-video (by 25% better quality), followed by component video cables ( for r,b, g where the upgrade is much higher than the previous quality).

What did you mean by the TV screen divided in half?

Maybe I haven't shopped around yet, but where did you find it for $79?

I am using s-video for my DVD player on a 27" SONY WEGA TV...I have no prob using it...I do not intend to spend another 30-80 dollars for component cable. If you shop around you can get component cable as low as $25....the good low value brand available is Acostic in future shop for just $39.99...I still don't feel like buying the same...coz I don't think it's a huge diff in qlty...I may be wrong....but that's my perception...I enjoy watching movies with present set up.....
