I have the S-video cable too but I haven't connected it yet.
Would you say that the picture quality improves significantly when switching from the regular composite video to S-video?
Also how different is S-video quality from component video.
I know what you mean by different price range of component video cables - I have seen component video from $25 (at Wal*Mart) to as high as $240 (BB and FS).
There's got to be a difference in quality between the $25 cable and the $240 ones, otherwise there can't be such a huge difference.
I have another question - what determines the quality of a DVD player?
I mean, there are DVD players available for $25 and there are $250 ones too.
Most of them now-a-days have all types of output (S-vidoe, component, etc.) and surround sound support.
Then what's the difference?
Is the picture quality different for different DVD players, and can you take a cheaper DVD player and make the picture quality better by using S-video or component video, instead of the regular composite video cables?
