Hi,
Let me give you background before I go ahead more in detail
June 30,2003 =>
Applied for 1st stage financial approval for parent immigration with all necessary documents. I am very well qualified by income (almost 3 year good tax filiing in Canada) for parent immigration.
Unfortunately, I forgot to keep copy of the payment slip, so I don't have any reference # to check online.
While reading the posting, I read that someone applied for 1st stage approval in July 2003 got approval letter in Feb 2004 (within 8 month).

If you check online on website or call them up, since last 10 month there is the same date posted application received before "June 25, 2003".
I have called up so many time, all u here from call center "Sir... so...so... so... go by online date...... no explanation" (Really waste of time and our tax payer's money - they can't tell you anything till getting approved - no word of commitment or future dates)
I also wrote several emails to Immigration minister, local MPs but same story - no reply. Call from local MP office says "Go by procedure, they can't challenge the decision of delaying parent's immigration"
I am really frustrated, and I don't know what to do next.
"Can u pls advise me, what can I do in this case?"
Unfortunately, parental sponsorship is no longer processed as fast as it used to. Spouses & children are given top priority.
You should wait a few months. You'll receive the acknowledgement. Every little event sets back processing time. We now have the Tsunami and I bet you embassies are going to use that as an excuse.

Are you there?
I don't know what is the current procedure from case processing centre in Mississauga. I submitted immigration papers for parents to Mississauga case processing centre in Sept 2002. I did recv an acknowledgement in one and a half month. Later they wanted me to mail few more docs, wch I did and by Nov 2002 we recd approval for sponsorship. Now in our case, I am sponsoring my parents and my wife is sponsoring my mom-in-law. Both approval recd at the same time. We sent all paperwork to our parents in India to be signed and forwarded to N Delhi HC. Due to some delays in getting PCC, they submitted papers somewhere in May 2003.
Now I could see online that my parents appl has been recd by them and that they would shortly send file #. But for my mom-in-law there was nothing posted online, we tried calling N Delhi & C'garh like a million times, no answer. I spoke with local MP off and withing a week from that, I could see the application online and she recd file # as well. But eversince then, no answer. Upon contacting local MP off, we get same answer saying they can't do anything abt it. I guess we all have to do something abt this and send some kind of a letter or petition to the immigration minister in Ottawa.
All the best

Thanks to everyone for reply
I did receive the letter with no reference number or anything, wrong name spelling, etc from CIC saying that yes we have recd your application and we will update you in future for approval. Its really so much of the problem, no contact# and no where you can reach them.
My problem is I am planning to move in next 6 month and If I don't receive the information, I can fax my new address to Mississauga office but what is gaurantee that they will receive about it.
I think it is important, that all newspaper and other media, needs to highlight the problem of new immigrants. Eversince this new govt problem has been increased more and more.
I have to think for next step now
