I am on a PG Work Permit. This will last for 8 months - ending Mar 2005. I am working as an Interactive Multimedia Developer. My boss wishes to apply for HRDC approval on my behalf for extention of my work permit.

1. Is this easy considering HRDC has already put 'Multimedia' developer under some sort of facilitated no approval required list..? Whts the likely % of getting one?

2. Should i go for HRDC approval and apply for workpermit+PR sponsor OR One year Work permit based on facilitated approval process(this requires no HRDC)

3. Going by HRDC approval , I am making a 2 page case, plus attaching prints(resume response) of a few advt efforts on HRDC + free sites etc..(Our industry relies heavily on internal word of mouth hiring) Plus stating that new people would be hired to 'train' under me, and i am responsible for a lot of new projects that we have developed. This is all geniune and i can show the project files etc...

4. Should i attach any other documents.. Reference letters from College..? Letter from sister agency at work..?

I undertsand that i need to attach my Educational documents and Indian work exp certs.

Would appreciate any kind of response. Thanks for your time. Sorry for posting the same request in a different post, was a mistake.

Thanks Massood, I have my work permit issues all sorted out now. Although while issuing the permit, The CIC has categorically mentioned 'This document does not permit Reentry'. I am not sure about their reasons for doing so.

1. How would I proceed for my visit to India. Can i easily apply and get my visa from The consulate at Delhi?

2. I am considering applying at buffalo offices. Would it be wise to send over my passport by courier? Do they post your passport back to you at a Canadian Address?

Your suggestion for going about this procedure please.

I am also on PG work permit, but my employer is not ready for Actual work permit throught HRDC.

I suggest you do some research on HRDC website, It has one whole section related to work permits for foreign workers. Some IT jobs are included in a Facilitated program. For them HRDC has already declared approvals. So You have to prove that you really fall in that category, based on prev jobs , edu exp.

The application can be directly filed for Work Permit to CIC with all supporting docs. Though CIC may confirm your skills/certs/job with HRDC before considering the work permit.

After going preparing docs, you may ask for Mr. Massods advice. It can be very helpful.
