We applied for our parents in July 2008 in Mississauga and have not received anything yet (approval). Can anybody tell me how long are they taking these days i wanted to know cuz i have my 2 year old daughter living with them in India or if there is any way i can apply for visitor visa my mom,dad and one sister doing PGDCA.

But how come there is other people who applied in 2008 recieved approval already from Missisauga and there website says working on application recieved in Sep 2007. I dont know what is going on

I too applied in Oct, 2008 but haven't heard anything yet. Are there people who applied in 2008 and got approvals already? The site still shows the Sept 2007 applications being in process.
Any other 2008 applicants around who might have heard something from CIC?

I applied in March / April 2008, haven't heard from them other than the confirmation letter. I guess processing sponsorship applications is some rocket science...

It is not a Rocket Science but made out to be the one. The category will surely vanish (like a Rocket) in a thin air in couple of years to come. They don't want our law abiding parents here in Canada, while keep spending a fortune on the able bodied and criminals on welfare. Downtown Vancouver Eastside is full of them if you want to have a living proof.
